KELOID SCARS

Doctor-led keloid treatment in Windsor using injectables, laser and surgical options.

What it is, who gets it, where it appears

Keloids are raised scars that develop when the skin produces excessive collagen during healing. They extend beyond the boundaries of the original wound and may appear firm, thick or itchy. Keloids commonly occur on the chest, shoulders, jawline and earlobes.

Treatment options and expected outcome

Treatment may include injectable therapy, laser treatment or surgical management depending on the size and location of the scar. The aim is to reduce thickness, relieve symptoms and improve the appearance of the scar over time.

Review review

We specialise in skin surgery at The Wellfield Skin Clinic. All procedures are carried out by Dr Berry who has been practising in surgical techniques since 2004. Dr Berry is a member of the following relevant organisations:

  • The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS)

  • Association of Surgeons in Primary Care (ASPC)

  • Primary Care Dermatology Society (PCDS)

A consultation is essential to discuss the method of removal, and we recommend a cooling off period before going ahead with any surgery. Occasionally it may be advised that certain skin lesions are left alone for risk of less preferable scarring.

Please email photos and some descriptions of your skin lesion to our Clinic Coordinator, Georgie Egerton, on appointments@theskinclinic.com who will discuss your case and come back with the available treatment options and an estimate of costs.
