Skin tags are small, benign growths of skin that commonly occur in areas where friction occurs. They are frequently found on the neck, underarms, eyelids and groin. Skin tags are common in adults and may increase with age.

Treatment options and expected outcome

Skin tags can be removed safely using minor surgical techniques or medical cautery. The procedure is usually quick and performed under local anaesthetic where required. Healing typically occurs within a short period with minimal scarring.
